Sex & Springtime in the City

The birds in the trees do it, dogs do it, cats do it, even the little bees do it!

Enjoy springtime that is 😙 I really can’t think of one negative besides pollen, which can be irritating to those with allergies, but even pollen is necessary for the fertilization of the beautiful plants 🌺🌷

I’ve been thinking lately about all the behind-the-scenes things that goes into successful lovemaking (ie when both parties feel heard and satiated.)

There’s so much to it: grooming, showering and moisturizing, not to mention getting mentally ready. I personally like to have a little quiet time to connect with myself, because I can’t feel happy with someone else unless I feel happy with myself first.

Despite requiring a little time and effort, setting yourself up for a positive sexual experience is very simple.

Sex is not rocket science – it’s literally one of the most primal things known to man.

But people sometimes either Over think their sex habits, or they devalue them. Each of these is damaging to the possibility of experiencing an energizing and dynamic sexual encounter.

If you’re an over-thinker, you may find yourself disassociating during intercourse or feeling “checked out” or even like you’re watching yourself in a movie. It can be a weird and upsetting experience, especially when all you want to do is please the other person and yourself.

If you devalue a successful roll in the hay, you may fail to clean yourself up down there or fail to look your best. This can betray you by setting yourself up for being seen as a scared individual who isn’t willing to try. It can get depressing to live this way, because all you want is someone to see past the troubled exterior and notice the real you.

What then can I say to the Over thinker or to the person who devalues their sex life?

I’ll say it again, if I’ve said once: the birds in the trees do it, cats do it and dogs do it. Even the little bees do it! Animals don’t have big brains like ours, but we actually can learn from our animal friends.

We can learn the simple things, such as how even the animals like to look attractive for their mates – they know they can feel attractive by simply looking their best and letting their best colors show.

We can also learn that the animals naturally sense what they want sexually and they go for it without shame, blame, or derogatory sensations. They don’t need to think about it because somehow that animal instinct leads the way.

A great part of being a human is discovering and experiencing our true natures here on earth during our lifetime. My wish for this season is that we can feel at ease and confident to be present in the moment, and doing the best that we can do on that given date. Happy birds and the bees to all who read this!

Just chillin’

Post-Vacation Thoughts: You Can’t Take It With You (Or Can You?)

There’s nothing as strange as coming home after a vacation. As soon as I walked in the door of my apartment, I sensed my own absence. My house missed me, and so did my cat, DC.

But I came back from Mexico a changed woman! At least, that’s how I felt, because that’s how I always feel after an adventure. The experience alters me at my core, unlocking hidden knowledge and allowing me to get rid of some old habits or fears.

So it’s jarring to come home, all sun-kissed and glossy, and find everything just as I’d left it…

Kiss my sun-kissed booty 🙂

I found myself sitting on the couch, unpacked, back in New York as if nothing had happened. As if I hadn’t flown South and South and even more South, to get to Riviera Maya. As if I hadn’t spoken Spanish almost exclusively for a week. As if I hadn’t visited one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World – Chicen-Itza.

It was as if I’d never left, but I had left, dangit! My frustration grew until I realized that this was a normal, natural part of change.

You see, change occurs best when it’s from the inside out. And something has changed inside me, a little bit of Indiana Jones goes a long way, and it makes perfect sense that I should come home and find my existence here lacking a certain je ne se Pais.

This next part is the slightly tricky part: How do I bring all that is new inside me out into my everyday life?

I think this is a common feeling when folks get back from vacation – we still feel the adventurous glow and want it to continue.

But there’s a difference between acting like life is vacation 24/7, which is silly and doesn’t even sound fun, and consciously promoting the spirit of adventure in daily life.

So that’s what I’m going to do: I’m allowing the wide-eyed adventurer in me to look at New York and my home as a great, exciting mystery to be questioned, adored, and treasured. I’m re-vamping my apartment already, and with this new inspiration, I aim to bring a truly exciting piece of furniture here. I don’t know yet what the piece of furniture is, but I know how it makes me feel. It’s hard to describe, especially because I’m no home decorator, but I just really desire an apartment that is not only posh and nice, but gives you the feeling life, even the mundane parts, is an adventure.

Sorry to ramble about my apartment. It’s just a new thing for me, I guess. I shouldn’t be embarrassed but I feel like other people my age know how to decorate and live alone better than I do. But, I’m learning and sucking at something is the first step to being really, really good at something!

Thanks for reading, and I wish that this season infects you with an adventurous spirit…XOXO

What Makes Fantasies So Special?

In our fast-paced society, people often make the time to build great lives and it can take a lot of effort. This is why responsibly indulging in fantasies is a great way to keep the imagination fresh. Fantasies and a healthy world of play and pleasure shows us the variety of life, and makes everything sweeter.

Me relaxing

Fantasy worlds are not uncommon. Sports for example, Or video games. But thrilling sensual fantasies are an often undervalued. Like, it’s about experiencing the rush and butterflies and that indescribable element.

I believe it is healthy to spend a little time, every now and again, to indulge in fantasy.

Some people spurn any attempt at fantasy, writing it off as a frivolous waste of time.

Others stick to the Real World 24/7. They worry that making time for temptations can be a slippery slope.

For the faint of heart or weak of mind, fantasies and imaginary worlds can indeed be dangerous.

But the ability to suspend disbelief and truly lose one’s self, that is to live in the moment, takes courage and strength and even skill.

I feel that individuals possessed of this skill can truly have it all, because they know that thin line between fantasy and reality and they can flirt with that line. These lucky individuals are rare men: He can bask in the glory of what he built or accomplished , but he can confidently also make time to detach from the harshness of reality.

Thanks for reading my thoughts in this 🙂 in closing, I just want to say I encourage you to make time for temptations and trust that everything that is meant to work out for you, is going to work out well. 😉

Springtime in the City

Spring in New York is a slowly unfolding miracle. It’s the sunny portion of the miracle of life, and I get to witness it. Goodbye snow storms (which I thoroughly enjoyed) and hello lounging in the park.

This time last year, I was still living in Texas and to be here now is pretty amazing. The most amazing part is seeing New York’s pace of life become much faster. I really feel like Covid and all it’s mania is dying down now.

Spring is such a hopeful season, but I remember how important it is to take care of new sprouts. That means I can’t get too crazy and forget all about what I need to do to survive and keep following my dreams.

This year I am getting my yoga teacher certification. Also, I am signing up for another writing class. Lastly, I realized I want to learn more about investing so I’ll research a course I could take to learn about that.

Old photo that captures my pondering attitude

I know I can feel good, satisfied and also challenged if I balance this wonderful, carefree springtime feeling with the hard work and determination that makes the world (my world) go around. Either way, I can’t wait to see where I’m at come summer 2021. I know it’ll be somewhere I can be proud of!

Thanks for reading and catching up with me. What do you see yourself doing this spring and what aims do you have this year?

Why Spring is Sexy

Hi from a beautiful first day of spring! I’m certainly glad I am in manhattan, although I miss the Bluebonnett’s of Texas countryside. It’s lucky that I get to compare the two and experience such different landscapes and seasons.

It’s exciting to see the bare toes, legs, and arms beginning to peek out. After a cold winter, seeing skin again and feeling the warmth of the sun is irresistible and it’s hard for anyone to be in a bad mood for long.

It’s like spring awakens the lust for life that lies in every person’s heart. The lengthening days and warmer evenings also reminds us that we can have the energy to accomplish things that we want to do this year.

What does the “new year” of springtime inspire you to do? What ideas will you bring into the world this summer and by fall, collect what type of harvest?

These are ideas that can get anyone excited and riled up;) I guess that’s what I find spring to be a sexy season!

Have a blossoming and lovely day, xoxo.
